I have no pulse on the current fishing. But, trolling deep dive simmers power plant toward manomet has worked well.

Unless you count the 3" ones. Looking like a repeat of last year. Bad enough that the bass have been scarce ( from shore) but no blues too? Lanes Cove tourney should be interesting again...

I heard northern Billingsgate Wellfleet harbor area there were some pretty recently but I did not see them myself.
Funny thing is I had some of the best bluefishing in a long time this spring in the Cotuit area from boat and shore. Acres of them for a few weeks and then poof. I thought they were going to be a PIA. Good luck in your search. Paul

It's definitely been a weird year so far . A couple weeks ago we had big ones hit the baits on Stellwagen I haven't seen a blue since.
Waters still cold this side

Channel at Wellfleet harbor yesterday and some at the path. Enough to bend rods with a charter, but not enough if your son is thinking about fishing for market. Weird year - I had 62 degree water and macs at Sandwich (this is August, right?).

Got one single blue this year north of the canal. Just so happened to be a 34" 16lber feasting on adult macs. Thought it was a 25lb bass. Other than that they are scarce on the south shore up to now. Water slightly warmer this week but still crazy cold.

Read the horseshoe shoal has good bluefishing on one of the local reports. Usually pretty accurate.
