Its been awhile

Hello All,

Its been awhile since I visited. Didn't fish at all last year as there were way to many fires and my body was completely exhausted from hiking mountains and fighting fires from Canada to the Northern Rockies....just didn't have the motivation to crawl all over the rock piles after 5 months of no sleep and 120 hr weeks. Instead I stayed home, drank beer and fished in the pond, and got my wife pregnant! lol I did make it out this morning for the first time in 2 years and was rewarded with 3 nice fish, all in the 36" range but it was still nice getting out there and "doing it" again! Very rough water with that easterly but laughed as I got soaked and sprayed (not soaked I guess I was wearing a wetsuit). For a while, I almost forgot how much I love surfcasting and guess I took it for granted during my 20 and early 30s. After not fishing for almost two years It felt so good to get out there again. Hope you all are well and having a safe and excellent season. Heres a couple pics of my summer "adventures" in Montana and Oregon. I promise the next pics will be of fish, sorry.

Glad you are back safe, and back in the surf. It is a great endeavor you guys pursue, and not without significant risks and hardships. I don't know how you handle the daily heat during season, nevermind the heat of the fires. Thought of you this summer as it got quite a bit of national coverage. Congrats to you and the wife, too.
