Salem in October
http://www.hauntedhappenings.org/
Here's the site for info if you are into that stuff or considering a visit....
Personally, I avoid driving into or through Salem for the entire month due to the traffic and crowds. It is unavoidable though when I have to go to Moynihan Lumber or my mother's place at Brooksby Village.....

I really don't miss Salem all that much but in October I will REALLY not miss it.
Although my daughter has been talking about coming back to see all the Halloween stuff...

My son is at SSU as well, though living at his mother's house here in M'head, which bugs the crap out of him.... But to pay rent to move half a mile as the crow flies????
Yep, the kooks are getting geared up. Parade is Thursday to kick off the madness.

Is this even possible, getting a spot to tie up ?
My daughter came home 1 weekend so far by taking the commuter train to north station then from there to station in Norfolk Ma which is the next town over from me in Wrentham.

Pickering wharf area has docks and I think Palmer cove is another option. Probably less than a mile walk to Palmer cove from the school, Pickering wharf is about 1.5 miles.
