Waterline stain removal
Anyone have that brown stain at the waterline at this point in the season? Get some FSR, fiberglass stain remover, mix it in a spray bottle cut at least 2/3 with water (it is a gel so it sometimes clogs up the pick up if not cut enough). Spray on stain. wait a few minutes. Hose off. Stoopid easy. Stoopid good result.

Of the three, FSR is the easiest and less toxic. I have used the others mentioned. All will take the wax off, but not an issue at this time of year, IMO.

I love BKF, stupid simple and ridiculously cheap. I haven't had a scum line it hasn't removed in 1-2 minutes of sitting.
And I guessing that it is LESS toxic than FSR. no fumes, no gloves needed. Hell it's used on pots and pans for gods sake.

star brite hull cleaner.
spray or wipe on, hose off in a minute. no scrubbing, and its like watching magic. your hull goes from coffee color to bright white effortlessly. they even sell it at walmart i think. its a thin liquid... not a gel like fiberglass cleaner

Thanks for the tip. I trailer, but I guess from being in some mucky harbors for too long I have some staining for the first time ever. Do you by the FSR at a marine store?

ive been slopping on fsr for the past 4 years and I was just thinking about cutting it with water to spray it on.. Im glad you had good results.. I'm going to give that a shot.. Nothing like a season on the merrimack for the ultimate test of a stain remover.

I have been using it straight as a gel and the stuff is awesome. It takes rust stains, yellow stains at the waterline, literally everything right down to white!!!
