Last night after reading about that theft and fresh in my memory another I read about here, I actually went out at 11:00 p.m. and took everything out of my van and locked them in the house. This is getting ridiculous. We need the courts to stop letting every one that commits a crime off with just probation. Best wishes for a safe return of your stuff, Habs

Lets see....

How many plugs can you fit in this bag?

Never mind the other smaller surfcaster bag he had......and the other run of the mill plug bag......plus what was hanging around in the fish tote with the rest of his gear.....

Easily $1000 bucks worth of plugs.....and we wont count the protoypes.....

....add in an aquaskin jacket....a couple of spools......pair of pliers.....

Poor guy had to paint up a dozen needles for himself today.....

Johnny - can we get a good description on what was stolen so we can keep a lookout for them? Any distinguishing stuff (other than Project X)?

Let's get realistic here...

THE STUFF IS GONE -

With all the plug-builders around now-adays...how would one determine what's what...and who's who's? If you see someone with a Habs Needle, what would you do, ask him if he stole it or bought it?? C'mon..the guy (Habs) has stuff all over New England. Even with "Project X", even though there probably aren't many consumers who have them yet...how would prove or approach someone who was wearing one?

It's giving the guy false hope.

The only way that stuff could be recoverable would be if the turd who stole it, WASN'T A FISHERMAN. In that case, more than likely he would be selling the stuff in bulk to make a quick payday to buy that rock he needs to get high. Now the buyer could possibly blab to some other fisherman and so on and so on and then it might get back to Habs. I'll be honest though, in a normal day situation, if a guy in a van/truck approached me with a paper bag full of plugs, I'm buying it and keeping it to myself (of course in this case I'd let Habby know, not for the reward..but because he's a good egg). It happens all the time around my neck of the woods, not always fishing apparatus though. If the guy who stole it DOES fish, YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT IT. It's sitting in his basement, and those plugs will come out 2 @ a time and no one will ever notice. Even with the X jacket, he'll sit on that for the season if he has any brains.

John, if you really want to catch this chump...(hopefully he doesn't fish, cuz he's not going to sport your bag full of plugs if he has any sense at all, which he does because he cleaned you out pretty good) Your best bet would be to check in with your local pubs and bars. Or check with friends who visit these local establishments. Maybe on the other side of town. Most crooks would hit the North End if they live in the South End..and vica versa.

Good Luck...but don't hold your breath, even though miracles DO happen.

You guys should stick a lo-jack in that tacklebox if you're carrying several hundred dollars worth of tackle.

I recall a story where a woman was getting harrassed constantly by her ex who kept showing up wherever she went and she couldn't figure out why until she had to take her car in to the shop, and the mechanic found a GPS/locator thingy in the front grille of her car.

jugstah, it doesn't take a lot of tackle to get in double or triple digits. when plugs are $12 to $20 plus all the other things you need pliers, swivels, leaders, hooks, and a couple spools with line. don't forget those storm wild eye's,ledgerunners, fisherwoman's teasers it all adds up! check out your gear, you'll be surprised what you've spent.......

Throw in a Team SeaMonkey membership to sweeten the reward and that might bring the desired results.
