Thunnus ci4

I'm thinking the 8k or the Gosa 8k for a ditch/beach rod.
I like the idea of getting bait runner feature for use on the boat (as well as beach) with the thunnus but not sure if it suited for pluging...
Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Rod comes next! :-)

thunnus - not ideal for plugging, a bit heavy if you are going to throw for an extended period imo but I like to plug with pretty light setups. they are pissa for livelining from the boat and chunking the beach. I've got a few of the last generation of them which I actually like a hair more than the newer ones. they hold up pretty well and I just repair them when they crap out. used to use the bigger ones for tuna years ago before the spin/pop revolution happened - they are pretty solid reels

my 1st wife didn't like me fishing so much

I own old gen gosa's and hands down are fantastic reels for plugging, was my first ditch reel and performance for money you cant go wrong.

I cant speak for the new generation, but only i have not heard good things.

FYI get a 10k if you plan on using it at the canal. Just my opinion.
