Got a racepoint 200 waiting on a matagi custom painted reel seal (red salamander) and some trim parts.
Got 2 blackhole 450gram jig rods waiting for components.
Once I finish that got asked to re-do some cork for a friend

Just finished up a live lining all purpose boat rod. Came out very nice. An MHx Muskie blank. Have to start coating today. Need to find a camera and snap some pics. Very happy with the way it came out and color combo.

I've got two Rainshadow 7' ML, X-fast, 20-40lb., 2-6 oz convench in progress. I went with micro on one that's ready for finish. I'm thinking I'd better go with standard guides on the other, got to thinking,,,, I'll have a tough time re-stringing the micro daytime never mind night... Blind as a bat!
Just starting with this so their not too pretty, looking for fish catchers...:-)
Made a neat jig for placing guides, I'll post a pic sometime

I've got a light RodGeeks spinner for my son and a pair of 7 foot Rainshadow blanks to build into spinners for the boat. I am going with the microwave guides on the Rainshadows - anyone else use them? Any feedback before I wrap them on?
I have to finish two boat rods that a friend built. He's been having problems with his finish application and likes the way mine come out. I think he's blowing smoke up my backside just to get me to finish them!

Got a little carried away with this, cabin fever got the. Best of me.
Crap picture but that pipe is in a 45 deg fitting, I made a bunch of donuts to accommodate blanks or finished buts of dif sizes,,,,

With the tip top on the blank I tie it off and pull the rod down thru an eye bolt, the eye is movable to get the proper bend to the blank, then place the guides with line running thru them......

I have a PVC holder bolted to the leg of my workbench, sans doughnuts. I just use a rag wrapped around the butt and use a mobile bucket of rocks, paint can or whatever as my weight to flex the rod.
I then use a piece of nylon line to tie the tip down to the bucket, run mono off the reel, through the guides and out the tip with a sinker on the end. Tie everything off, adjust the guides, add/subtract as needed and measure them up.

Very nice Vic,
Are you going to fill in the cork handles a bit more with Elmers filler. Looks like they were and maybe you shaped them a bit more and opened some voids.
Wraps to me always looks better and take better pics before the finish goes on. That is a nice simple wrap. Many times I thing people go overboard with decorative things.
So what is a Race Point 200??????

Beamie,
Yes, good eye. I have to fill the cork final sand and seal it a second time I had taped it to keep it neat DOH!
RP200 is a stickbait and popper rod rated pe8 (112#)line, 14kg(30#) drag. Going for waaay overboard on the decorative stuff on this one. All the other rods I've build myself are black on black, figured I'd spice it up a bit
