I have read that eel skin plugs work best during the day? Do you agree? I have used them with great luck during the day but I was wondering what everyone elses experience was.
I think that just about any eel related lure or live bait will work during the day, but since they are more commonly used at night and fish feed more actively at night, and bass fisherman fish AT NIGHT, results are better and more common to hear about.
Day in late May early June, and October & November is not quite the same thing as day in July, August & Sept.
I've had good success with eels in the day during migration and at twilight all season long.
When a person says they prefer to use eel skin plugs in the day - you have to take into consideration their fishing habits. They do not mean in the middle of the day during summer. Most experienced fishermen will realize that.
Some of the best surfcasters I know like them particularly during grey dawn and at twilight, which is they only part of the day they fish with any frequency for the majority of the season.
