Fall run?

Seems like it up here on the north shore. I got four calls this morning about shore blitzes with birds all over the three or four towns' shorelines. I did mange to finally get out around 4pm and managed a few. Was totally unorganized. No pliers, Just grabbed a rod and reel. Had to tear through the glove box to find a swivel. Did have a clip. But it looked like it was eight years ago with bass busting on peanuts, occasionally coming within casting distance. My fish were decent, but heard there were some good ones taken this morning. So the nephew has his assignment the morning, and I arranged to not be on anyone's calendar anywhere.... Going to get organized, load some plugs, waders, gear, and coffee. Load up the system with Aleve and be driving the beaches looking for birds at sunrise! It has been many years since we have had any of this up here. Makes it more palatable that the boat is sitting in front of the house......

It started last Saturday up here on Cape Ann with all if what you described, blitzing bass on mid sized peanuts. Some jumbo fish in the mix as there were horse macs on the peanuts too. We were getting fish up to 45" and as small as 12". It has settled down as far as blitzes the last two days but there are still fish present. Hoping for another big push this weekend. Good luck and if you get out there don't hesitate to try a few casts in spots with no active birds as there may be a huge bass just sitting there.

I had that in my area last week. Smaller fish though. The colder temps drove the peanut bunker from the rivers and the bass had a field day. It was practically unbelievable.

Rum has been on in SoCo for a few weeks. They move through sporadically. Better get to full run soon or it'll be the Winter Run.

Sometimes, I think the "fall" run begins at the end of August through most of September. At that time clouds of bait often with birds overhead and fish splashing were passing buy. Now it seems we're working sporadic pushes of bait with predators feeding on them. Naturally, certain areas are more prone to light up on a regular basis.
The big water in early October wasn't to be overlooked.
