MV Derby settling in
2 weeks left and it looks like the boards have settled in. Not many new fish here. Doesn't look like Joaquin will change much in Vineyard waters either. The leader blues are definately on the heavy side of recent history as are the bones, but the albies and especially the bass are on the lighter side. Would love to see someone here go over and top that 38 lb. shore bass. Has anyone been over recently? How was it?

Lots of short Albies. Tough to find one over 25 for me. All 22 / 23 / 24.

kind of a shame that the 2 "biggest" bass from shore are 30 and 39lbs for the entire month........

Considering the 3 top boat Bass appear to be from the same boat on the same day Id say the Boat Bass is waaaayyyyyy off thus far. Then again, its exactly what I expected. I still think well see a few cows before its over but it aint pretty.
Ill be chasing fish based out of Hyannis starting Tuesday and Im on Island starting Saturday.

On island since Thursday 10/1. Don't blame me for bringing the rain. Will be here till morning of Thursday 10/8.
Short bass Saturday and Sunday.
3 Albies this AM. 1st 2 24 inches. The third was 26 and weighed in at 7.6 pounds. Had a blue bite off my chunk hook on a run this am too. Saw a nice flyrod bass caught this am.
NE wind at 30 not friendly. (rain sucked too but wind was killer). Water dirty. Wind slowly improving.
It should only get better.
Putting in my time.

Looks like thee was only 1 Bonito weighed in on Bonito Saturday. Did little Dylan Kadison win the $500? Anyone know? Good for him if he did!

Miles Whyte (shore bass) won the boat, and then proposed to his girlfriend during his speech.
"Striper" Steve Pietruska (boat bass)
won the truck.

LOL Yes. We told him it was just to get the boat. She got a chuckle out of that.

Congrats the Wareing family. Nine year old Leah took first place shore Albie(her first ever) and fought it like a pro. No one more deserving than Jim to win the Sportsmanship Award.
Also congrats to Zach for winning the Kayak and Patrick for a flyrod award(BP - what was it again?)
