STRIPER SURF DAY at RIVERS END - 3/19

I met with Joe yesterday and here are the details on this year's event.

As the winter that never quite materialized slowly eases its grip on the region, let's come together and celebrate the season ahead at Striper Surf Day on Saturday, March 19, at Rivers End Tackle located at 440 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, Connecticut from 10 AM to 4 PM. This is a great day to hang out, take in a seminar or two and share some stories with fellow surf rats. There will be some great speakers on hand with an emphasis on how to demonstrations, factory reps, sales, raffle prizes, great food and good friends. As always the food, parking and entry is FREE!

FEATURED SPEAKERS AND DEMOS
Bill Wetzel
will be hosting a seminar titled, "Big Bass Tactics." While the emphasis of this seminar will be on fishing eels in the surf, he will also discuss other ways in which surfcasters can target cows. Bill always provides both an entertaining as well as an insightful seminar and should not be missed!
Dennis Zambrotta will be debuting a new seminar entitled, "The Surfcaster's Element." In this seminar Dennis will tap into his many years of surfcasting knowledge to discuss how to use environmental conditions to your advantage. He will address such topics as the wind, tide, moon and so on.
Steve McKenna will be demonstrating how to rig Slug-Gos as well as loading Red Fins.
Toby Lapinski will be doing eel rigging demonstrations. He will spotlight the technique of using plastic zip-ties to rig an eel, and he will also be fielding questions on how to rig and fish eels for big striped bass.
Joe D'Agostino of JoeBaggs Bucktails will be showing how to properly rig dead eels and soft plastics on jig heads.

There will also be an extensive line-up of factory reps on hand including Tsunami, Line Stretcher, Albie Snax, High Hook Lures, JoeBaggs Bucktails, Guppy Lures, Northbar Tackle, Surfcasters Journal and more.

The crew from the Connecticut Surfcasters will be on hand to talk about the club and sign up new members.

As always this event is free and open to the public!
