Incredible night of fishing. Started slow just before dusk. Caught a few small fish on a bomber and felt thankful about no skunk. Then it got dark and we started eeling. The rest is just unbeleivably good fishing. All the fish were fat and very healthy. All put up a big fight. I got so that a fish around 15 pounds was a dissappointment compared to all the really big ones!! We caught so many we lost track of the count.
We caught all these fish between 36 and 42 inches then found out that the tape we used was short an inch!! The fish were all actually 1" longer than we thought!! Unbeleivable.
Thanks for all the fun Mike. I've gottem more fish in a night but never so many big ones in a night. You and Redcrabber were great to fish with. Good guys and good fisherman!!

BASS DRUNK!!!!
is only way i could describe last night. It just didn't stop! no triple hook ups, bunch of doubles though. got to the point where we all agreed that it just doesn't get any better.
told wife i'd be home round 11 ish the latest, walked in the door here at 4am. so much for work today
have to admit last night is burned into my memory as one of the best. hard to believe we went through all those eels but sure am happy we did
had some friends coming in from california who wanted some bluefish, actually had to almost pray for one
MikeM.....uh...you have a spot..it will go to my grave with me.
Saltheart always good to see you and glad you were there

Got your message just now and as I told Clamdigger earlier today over a beer and sandwich, tonight would be great if I had the time. Have a prior obligation tomorrow, but thanks and I will take you up on the offer soon I hope.

??? I never had a tape that wasn't accurate??? It wasn't my tape that was short the other night either.
besides , if a tape is 1" short , that makes the 28 inch fish 29 inches , not 27.
Sorry , I hink I read denis' post wrong . I think he means he had the short tape.

For fish like you're catching Mike , you don't need a tape , you need a fifty pound scale!!
