They're in the 7 mile long stocked pond near me.

And yeah, the annual recurring #^&#^&#^&#^& show is also well underway.

I'm betting that 90% of the people there couldn't find a fish if the Canal didn't exist. Other than in the middle of the night, I haven't been since 2013 and not going again this year except maybe at 0'dark 30.

No boat, back in the suds.

Housatonic River in CT has a fair number of keepahs. I've got 4 small keepers from shore on soft plastics...they should be dumping out soon and heading your way John...

I feel the exact same way about the 90%. I will make a few trips this year since I got into a club last year. I need to get my moneys worth out of it. But I would rather fish a tide in the surf and click a few fish here and there than deal with the clusterchuck that is the canal.

In other news I got my first few small keepers this past Saturday in RI, nothing big but did help a kid catch his first saltwater fish. About a 15 lber, happiest kid on the water that day.

Everything is better on the rocks.

Angry Poaching Scum

Keep an eye out on the south side of the Cape for poaching losers. Found a 27" fish in the grass by a small jetty that was there at least 24 hours.

Also, on that beach that is famous for some of the earliest blues of the year I had words with some moronic bait googan who kept a 23" fish. Almost led to more than words. The guy didn't care at all he was poaching and didn't care if everyone within earshot knew it. This was right at the entrance to the beach where anyone coming or going could see the short fish. Didn't try to hide it at all. Called the EPO on the bitch and the officer was very appreciate of the call. He reminded me to let everyone know that we are the EPO's eyes and ears out there. 800-632-8075. Put it in your phone if you give a #^&#^&#^&#^&.

I'll be honest and say I understand why many home owners hate fishermen. I hate a lot of them myself. Some of the greediest and most disrespectful sob's I've come across.

to follow BBC,s post ...I had to go to Oakland Beach last Friday evening ..so I took a ride to the to the Boat ramp .I was driving away when I saw a pile of fins .

i stopped & went over to it .it was 8 racks of bass .[only] one was legal the other 7 were [I,m guessing] under 5# or under ......... they didn,t even care enough to hide them or fillet them before they came in .
i called DEM , I knew it was a waste of time but @ least they were told ......I was talking to a friend who was In Pawt . Saturday & he decided to stop @ the [wall] & there were many guys taking every fish they caught which were plenty ...He didn,t bother to call the DEM because he,s been a fighter for the bass for years .....But now In his words .he really doesn, give a F uck .. the state & federal goverment don,t ..he now puts all his effert & enjoyment into F/W .

All I ever hear is the commercial guy this & the commercial guy that ...........Black market . etc ............If there was a way to know for sure . I,d be willing to bet the so called rec . brakes the law & kills more bass than all the legal & illgal ing fishing by commercial guys &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& the black market is [NOT} made up of ALL commercial fisherman .............. many illegal markets are not even suppied by 1% of commercial fisherman ><> No Halo,s here ............But I also havn,t even taken the boat out looking for bass in 2016 .....I will fish the short commercial season in RI for bass & then I won,t fish for them again in 2016 ><>

ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE !!!

I'm gonna hit up the North Shore tomorrow and drive along the coast to see what I can get.

I have Skippy-Niko's 8 wt G Loomis. I plan on going to an area where there are no spectators to be hurt or hurtful to me because of bad technique.

2011 for me, since the last time I fished a day tide. Even the early night tides have their share of idiots now. And you can't hide any more. Most of the brush has been cut, and even in the few places where there's still cover, I've seen people hover on the road and listen for the sound of braid going through guides--so even the old sharpie's trick of taking out the drag clicker is by the boards.

It's def easier to not give a #^&#^&#^&#^&. No trouble, more enjoyment. I just can't do it, yet... Seems like a losing battle.

Thing is I actually had my cell and took a pic of him and the bass, but it was so bright out I couldn't see the screen while keeping an eye on him and it was a pretty heated convo. The pic was unusable.
