With the tides building towards the full moon and the bulk of the incoming tide in the dark next week...plan of doing some bass fishing..
I know it's only August.. but .. I've started getting ready for the ice fishing season... I need to put the finishing touches on a trailer I built for the Wheeler because I bought a new truck in June and don't want to carry it in the bed any longer...

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Picked the boy up from conservation camp this afternoon, and just relaxing listening to all the stories. Working tomorrow and taking him fishing Sunday morning. Then as usual, I will be spending time at the baseball field with him.

Funny fish casting practice today. Tomorrow dropping 8 nice sized oak trees and running the splitter.

Everything is better on the rocks.

Heading out on the boat for a long weekend for me and a new friend on the south side of the cape. Fishing Saturday, Sunday and monday. Destinations to be determined a day or so prior after reviewing the most recent Intel. Prolly hit a bunch of spots, planning on burning a fair amount of fuel looking for signs. Know the Albies/Bonito are beginning to show up around M.V. so maybe we'll get lucky. A little casting with the light spinning gear along with some trolling. Win, loose or draw we're gonna have fun...hoping the seas will be forgiving.

Some surf casting and otherwise avoiding the heat as much as possible. I did see a few meteors early yesterday morning.

5 hours of casting in soco yesterday for hardtails with nothing to show for it. A few small flocks of terns bombing but no fish to be seen.

Everything is better on the rocks.

Watching hometown neighbor marathoner Shalane Flanagan, answering radio calls from boats looking for bait reports, all from the comfort of my air conditioned den!
I did the marathon yesterday searching for bait, unsuccessfully. Back to night time this week I hope.

I did not see any meteors but I did dodge some lightning bolts while driving (felt like that anyway )
