The Block ...
Never fished The Block but thinking about takin' the yak(s) over on the ferry (If I/we can do that.) Wondering how the fishing is these days.
Thanks for any feedback!
Tight Lines,
Rob

It is do-able but be careful where/when you go. Fishin is just about always good. I have never fished it from a yak. It can get pretty nasty for a boat no less a yak so watch the condions. I would stick to daytime and work the lee-side of the island your first trip.

A yep... Besides many of the places you'd want to Yak would give you second thoughts once you saw it... I was about to say in New Harbor but you don't want to do that either....

I just spent the weekend with my family at the Spring House. We had an AWESOME weekend. The word from the locals is after dark. I'd leave the Yaks at home and bring your bikes. Theres more shore spots than yak spots.

I just spent last week there. There are fish all over the island. I heard a local at Bethany's say that the fishing was almost not fun because it was so easy to catch stripers. I even caught fish at noon from shore. Night is definitely the best time for the big girls.

Scotch,
Did you get to fish while you were there, we never made it over due to family visiting? I'd still like to take a weekend there in the Fall

179, I fished Old Harbor Point a couple of times for the skunk. It was more of a family vacation so I didn't go crazy. We had a HUGE clambake on the beach Sat night and the Oyster Festival at the Spring House on Sunday. Great time, already looking forward to next year.
