quick Cape Cod trip next week

The missus and I, and our dog, are going to be in Eastham for a few days next week, my mother-in-law wanted the kids to herself for a few days (her funeral).

Suggestions for restaurants that will be open? For dinner, we will have one meal at the BBQ place on rt.6 that has the smoker right on the road, that place has serious bbq, and I also thought they had great oysters. Someone here suggested Land Ho in Orleans last winter, and that was a great place too.

What are some nice beaches that we can walk a couple of miles on, if the weather is OK?

Last summer, my kids loved Head Of The Meadow beach in Truro. When we walked north for a bit, there was a sandbar exposed at low tide that had 30 seals on it. Will the seals be there in the winter? She will have a new camera and wants to photograph some seals, what are some other likely spots? Chatham Fish Pier?

Thanks guys.

I always say I like walking on cold desolate beaches in the winter until I actually do it.

I hear you, Paul! Anything short of a beautiful winter day, it can be mighty miserable. But the Cape is still a nice getaway, and my dog has never been offleash on a beach.
