Angry Grumpy AGAIN

EErrrrrr.....

Was supposed to be at the Ditch fishing this AM.....

Yesterday, while gasing up the Volvo, noticed the front tires were pretty worn (again!)....decided I couldn't drive down 495 like that....I've been needing an alignment for awhile now since I replaced the tie-rod ends about 8 months ago, but since the Old Dead Volvo that is my driveway had 4 new tires on it, I have just been switching them out as they become worn, and have been putting off the alignment. But, now, I was out of tires, so........

Went to the junk yard in that nasty heat yesterday.....picked up 2 decent used tires for $10 a piece.....came home, go to get the floor jack out of the old car. Well, seems the wasps/hrnets have built a nest in the old Volvo....under the hood, in the door jams, in the hatch....I got attacked and stung twice.....

After fleeing from the wasps, I pulled the rims off the Volvo, put the spare on one side, put an old worn tire on the other. Brought the rims and the new tires to be mounted and balanced......as I sweated

In the meantime, I came home and jacked up the car AGAIN, and decided to adjust the tie rods a bit so as not to wear the "new" tires, until I could get a proper alignment.....as I sweated some more.

Go back, pick up the mounted tires, come home, jack up the car AGAIN, and change them out. At this point, my T-shirt is soaked, I'm full of grease and grim, and my arm is swollen and stinging from the wasp sting. But I was done.......

Took it for a ride last evening to get some Chinese food, and noticed a bit of a squeal from the tires on the side roads....

Oh well, I thought, it will be okay for the ride in the early AM, and I'll deal with it after fishing on Saturday.

Woke up at about 1 AM.....pack up the stuff and head off......got about 5 miles and decided the squeal was getting worse....and then it occured to me that I must have been brain dead from the heat (or the wasp sting) yesterday......I turned the tie-rods the WRONG WAY and made the camber even worse!

Turned around and came back home....went back to bed....

All fixed this morning, I jacked up the car AGAIN, and set it back in the RIGHT direction this time 3 turns past were it originally was....and now everything is golden.

BUT I WANTED TO FISH.....so no doubt every guy at the canal caught a thirty+ pounder this AM.....

And it's about 10 AM, and already way too nasty out to mow the rest of the lawn without losing 450 gallons of sweat....

Lightbulb

Oh waah. I was out all day today powerwashing the trim in this heat. I did take out 4 hornet/wasp/bee nests that were attached to the soffets - not one sting. Gotta love Raid.

glad to see you got it straightened out steve..

working yesterday got a call to go to falmouth around 9:30...so there i am sitting in traffic trying to get over the bourne bridge which was backed up for three miles or so. decide to call the driver and see how he is making out...driver sez his stop in falmouth is done and is heading for wareham now...SOB...so i go around the rotary and back over the bridge i go talk about killing some time. finally meet up with this guy and pronounce his reefer unit dead(why is it they are always carrying ice cream or ice) so much for that and i head back to new bedford.
round about mattapoisett i get a call to go to harwich...this time i'll be smart and go in the back way not bad traffic to the sag was only backed up to the steps...what is that 2 1/2 miles or so??? finally get to harwich around 2:30 - 3ish truck has no belts left on it..i have a bunch of belts in the truck..but of course none will fit..take some measurements and being late saturday afternoon most of the little mom and pop parts stores are closed..so i drove a couple of towns over to BMtown (yarmouth) to a autozone..picked up a bunch o belts...nice to be a hero once in a while to be continued

because of the traffic on 28 and everyone just needing to be out driving to look for something to do by the time i got the truck back together and i was able to leave it was 6 ish, made a quick stop at the customers to tell him his truck was allset.
i'm such a dumbass sometimes(shoulda just called him) i ended up listening to this guy cry about this and that and being that i saw traffic backed up probably 4 miles trying to get off the cape i being the hero that i am i decided to take care of the gripes...adjusted a couple of clutches, fixed an exhaust, blahh blahh ect... anyways finally got away from there around 8 ish..actually the traffic had pretty much cleared out and i was back in the shop in new bedford by 9:30 pm

LESSON FOR THE DAY!!!!!!

CAPE TRAFFIC SUCKS!!

to fww and everyone

I HATE hornets but LOVE bees and used to have 25 hives of them.

Raid works fine i suppose but wd40 works even better ,faster and you dont have toxic lethal fumes to breathe as much. Of course a can of wd doesnt have the range of 15-20 feet of a super shot raid can. But when i'm in the mood i take two tennis rackets and purpously piss hornets off yellin "come on you bastages try and git me" and i say "engard" and whack every last one right out of the air....the secret being-> to walk backwards.

Brake klean will take those little stingers rifgt out of the air! Use it all the time at the shop. BTW it was over 100 degrees in the spray booth this week, don't tell me about miserable. Well, it woulda been worse with bees or wasps.

Hey Steve,
I used to be a front end mechanic..Its worth it to spend $ to have someone to set the toe and let let it go...It will save your tires...

I'm going where I'm going...

Raven.....LMAO.....

Squid....I know, I know, just been lax.....it's going sometime this week....though I took it for a long ride this AM, and it seems great.....my luck, I'll bring it in, pay the $$, and they'll check it with all the fancy equipment, and tell me it's now right on the money.....
