Well, they did shutdown their borders and put travel bans in effect. So there’s that.

Which Trump was attacked for doing on a small scale. They all said it was an over-reaction. Today, the same exact people who said it was an over-reaction, are saying he didn't do nearly enough, and no one calls them on their hypocrisy.

Just keep believing in the Stable Genius.
Americans under Donald Trump have been banned from entering into Europe. Because we are diseased.
In 3 short years this reality show clown has turned us into a ‘#^&#^&#^&#^&hole Country’.
The United States has 4.2% of the world’s population, but over 25.3% of the infections and 24.4% of the deaths. It is an overwhelming indictment of gross negligence and incompetence

The problem with Trump is his thinking and actions NEVER evolved as this health crisis ballooned, with the safety and well being of American Citizens as his priority. Everyone who has ever worked for Trump prior to his election and anyone who worked for him in the White House and left willingly or not, all report his thinking and actions always are about what is good for him personally. Now it’s getting worse as the election nears, he will accept a large number of casualties if it serves his re-election goals.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but the numbers are terrible and will only get worse in the rush to reopen the economy. I am so glad I’m retired, my job involved a fair amount of travel and required face to face interactions out of necessity, that would not be fun to navigate through.

Give me the total number dead and a smiley face, that number should have been so much lower, your guy owns that. The young and stupid are adding to the case numbers and lower death rates, something to be proud of, you head is strewed on backwards.

if we had taken radical steps early on, and people bought into that, we may have been better off. but if the left went berserk at a sliver of a travel ban, what would they have done if trump ordered that the movements of infected people be tracked?
Pelosi and Diblasio were telling their constituents in late february that it was safe to go to crowded
public places. Trump owns that?
i don’t give him good marks on handling this, but many on the left and in the media were saying in late february, that trump was overreacting, that the virus wasn’t serious enough to justify his concern. and you don’t utter a syllable about that, because all that matters is orange man bad.

Highly misleading as about 90% of Canada’s population is compressed near the US border.

Only with the climbing in Arizona and Florida.
The New York declining from 71% to 1% is all due to stellar democratic leadership. By shoving all those old folks and sick folks together into the same nursing homes helped get them off the books and reduce the future downward trend exponentially.

Let the finger pointing commence.
The local commies have a perfectly reasonable explanation for this confusion.

Congress just received notification that Tweety officially withdrew the U.S. from the WHO in the midst of a pandemic.
To call Tweety’s response to COVID even incompetent doesn't do it justice. This won't protect American lives or interests, it leaves Americans sick & America alone.

So are we now blaming the left for pushing a Trump in the wrong direction, well it only makes sense, Trump is the king of the blame game it only makes sense his minions would too.

No, please respond to what I actually said, not to voices you hear under your tin foil hat. I never said or implied that the left influenced Trump. I said we should blame Trump for his actions, and blame elected democrats for their actions. You are happy to blame Trump, you refuse to blame democrats.
I blame the left for (as recently as late February) saying that the little that Trump did, was an over reaction. I blame all elected officials, regardless of party, who said that it was safe to be in crowded public places. But officials who said that then, and who now blame Trump for not doing enough, they are guilty not only of being responsible, but of amazing hypocrisy. Not sure how you don't see that, but most people these days are incapable of saying anything critical of their own side.

We are a republic, not a democracy. Every state has a duly elected head of state. Every state can encourage mask wearing from the top down. The President is not meant to be, nor can be, a model of behavior for every citizen. The President has a limited, specified duty. Being a robotic, one size fits all model of proper politically correct behavior would be unbelievable and a target of ridicule as hypocrisy for political enemies.
He should be a model of constitutional correctness, not political correctness. As should all politicians. Very, very, few seem to be able to fill those shoes. If this election were to be on that basis, we would have a little more justifiable clarity on which to decide. But not much.
So much for personalities. On the other hand, there is a wide discrepancy between the direction of the parties. An honest discussion of that would be infinitely more important in informing how to vote.

The left wasn’t running the country or the strategy to respond and evolve as this virus exploded, but hey if you want to blame the left who had no control the federal response go tip your foil hat. The response and messaging even now has been to promote a Trumps agenda, NOT protect American lives.

OK, so Trump is responsible for what happens in NYC and San Francisco, not local elected officials. You go ahead and stick with that.
You are refusing to fold democrats accountable for their own words.

So your position is messaging at the top means nothing? I credit our local success to our governor ignoring the messaging from the top, other states are sadly influenced by Trump and his agenda, Florida is the perfect example.

Extremely competent and highly regarded non political experts were running the strategy, the response, and evolution of the virus. They still are. The states, as it should be, have the major political responsibility in dealing with the virus. The Federal government is supposed to help in limited ways. This is a republic, not a democracy. The President is supposed to be the least major influential political authority.

I guess you aren’t following the news, the only people who feel Trump and his team have handled this crisis well, oh wait for it; are Trumps base.
