Throw the book at them, cease their gear, boats and trucks.

That,s great .//but if they responded to 10% of the tips they received
they could pay off the state debt
also there have been rec & commercial diggers digging every daylight low tide from shore in the Prov River for the last 2 weeks ................ as far as I know not one bust ,,,,,,&&& its still closed until this Thrusday at sunrise ,,,,,,
I,ll bet anyone . that they will be digging there in the morning ........................ when we take Digger for his ride about . we see them ........ they can,t run away , they are standing in the water / some with wet suits / bull raking ......their truck are parked right at the point .. one guy is using one of the largest rakes I have ever seen ............ an I can,t believe hes pulling it in that super hard bottom .............................. what a joke . when it comes to shellfish ................I,ve given up trying to police my office ><>

It’s easier for Dem to bother the shore people trying to catch scup and tog or chase kids on dirt bikes
Not sure how many Environmental police in RI but mass has had 119 employees. Of these, 85 were law enforcement officers
Add in sick days vacation and days off and the size of the state .
can’t expect they are much of a deterrent.. no matter how hard they try

Good.
Wayne, RI has somewhere less than 20 IIRC. Inland, maritime, fresh, salt, everything, IIRC.

While those infractions are bad, that is NOT the correct image for the story. The related images were posted by RI DEM on September 30 as shown in the below link. The picture of the large bass in the story was from several years ago when guys from MA got busted in RI stockpiling during commercial season.

Poachers suck, they're stealing from all of us. Make penalties harsh, like GS said take all gear used including boats and trucks if used. Big fines as well as posting their names all around.
