Hitting some tog spots with a friend Saturday, not sure if we want to go out of Westport or Saconet. Anyone got a feel for if the move to deeper water has even started, water temp off horse neck beach is still 62? Need to round up crabs today.

After trips cancelled for weather and covid, finally getting out of Old Saybrook Sunday, hopefully chasing stripers on top then tog and sea bass. Need some chowder and blackened fish sandwiches.

Small job re-installing downspouts a client insisted on painting, after I took them down. Mow/mulch front lawn to nurture my late season reseeding. Dump run as I have two barrels filled just with cut outs from stair stringers. Cut a lot of stringers this week... And if there is time, start on the center console removal for tank replacement project. I have a few loose ends to tie up on the planning end of that as I got a message that fabricator wanted to use the 30-year-old pick up in new tank... That is not happening!
Close out weekend on Sunday with early family dinner to celebrate all fall birthdays

Spent the weekend with my wife doing what ever she wanted....50th birthday weekend. Went to N.H. for the night, went car shopping, out for dinner and today we are home with my son for a family dinner. It was a good week end and she is happy.

Jeff, already have reports of tons of fish yesterday. We will see. It doesn't matter. No fish on the Island is still a good day on the Island

Good luck out there B.I.-boys...remember, safety first, we ain't getting any younger -

GS, Tautog are still waiting around for ya... we got our limit on Sunday after 3 qts of greenies and over a quart of Asians.... loads and loads of 6 - 10" seabass to sort through , picked up a few jumbos too, season closed in RI though, ... Somehow this 25" fish made its way onto my hook, hello yum-yum!! Schools of mackerel finning on top, not being harrassed by anything, no blitzing fish, no bait-balls, no busy gulls...Fat-Lady all-warmed up and getting ready to sing -

We circled the island and found this thing docked nearby...

I mentioned to my crew, "I bet there's someone on the top deck right now staring down at us....wishing he was on this boat and not that ship"....they laughed and shrugged it off, but I remember on many occasion, while on a cruise-ship, seeing a small boat heading out with rods waving in the wind, and wishing I was with them.

Great day all - around, AND we beat the rain back to the dock.

seen to be on skinny bait so far, but I have tossed a danny a bit, no love but not pink either. Medium Pencils have been killers during the day.

Pay no attention to Spence. He's been pissed at the Block ever since Oakley threw back his PB at the SW Bar in a howling November gale.

So you guys are there now? How about a separate thread and some pics?

We are. DZ and Huddy have been here since Saturday, me since Monday. Since we aren't keeping anything, pics are tough. The Block beaches are mostly rock/rubble with lots of big water. I'll try to take some pics today.
