Avoiding the last weekend of Haunted Happenings in Salem! We spend a month of great circle navigation to avoid the city's traffic. Though I have heard from my young employees that there has been a lot of talent to admire....

Back from a week on the Block. Gonna kick back with Jeanne, a couple of adult beverages, a cigar from Mr. Huddy and grillin' a couple of beautiful steaks with some of my Hen of the Woods mushrooms.

No boat, back in the suds.

I think it is about time I returned to Jersey, but maybe South County in the mean time. I saw fish busting near a beach when the ferry was coming in the harbor.

OK Ross, 1 story:

Zero Dark 30 Tuesday night/Wednesday. I'm using a 9wt fly rod. I hooked and landed two fish in the teens (13-15#). I hookup again and this is a different class of fish. Ran all the fly line, 100+ yards of backing and I can't stop her so I am palming to spool on the fly reel. Yup, she popped a 20# tippet like it was thread.

I texted Dennis and he and Bob joined me. It's almost Midnight, pea soup fog and no wind. We are getting nothing and there is a splash that sounded like someone threw a cinder block into the water. We never hooked up again that night.

No boat, back in the suds.
