So long and thanks for all the fish!
I know, a bit of an obscure reference.
Quit my day job. Sent my boss (well supposed boss, but that is another story) an email two weeks ago just prior to his leaving for a two week vacation. Tried face to face but he was nowhere to be found that Friday. He did know it was getting close from earlier conversations.
Got a group text message this morning from him, and a guy covering work today let him know I am gone as of yesterday.
Some folks just need to do a better job reading their emails. He's a smart guy and will likely figure this all out next week.
Time to fish!

Congrats, Bob! It has often seemed that you were already retired due to the amount of time you have fished BI, MV, the islands, etc. That is great. Unfortunately the way my professional life has been laid out, i will likely never see the same...

congratulations - alot of places going to be "porked' when us old guys hang it up, I've been preparing these idiots here for my departure, working 4 days a week, I told them 1/1 /24 i go to 3 days.. the "guy" they hired for me to train is 27 with the IQ of a cucumber, even worse , no skills or tools ( can't figure out which way to turn a screw or turn a ball valve), they are in for it when I finish taking my stuff home, there won't be anything here to even change/cut a ceiling tile.
Enjoy - fish when you want and enjoy what you have, you have earned it!

Thank you for all the congrats and well wishes! The adventure begins. As I look to my immediate right there is a copy of "On the Run". Might just have to read and do that chapter by chapter.
