Narragansett Surfcasters Show
Hadn't been in 4 or 5 years. Great seeing Habs Jr. Richard C, Steve V, Toby, Dave Anderson and a host of my old surfrat friends.
Lots of new plug builders and some fine ones at that.
Highlight of my visit was picking up and almost new Newell 229 for $40.
Worth $150 to $200 used.

He has been but he told me he's done. Of course he told me the same thing 2 years ago. All the new plugs he made are beautiful and, to the eye, looks like John Sr. plugs.
I told him he should go back into full production and I'd sell for him.

I bought a few from BackBeach.
Newells are fantastic light bottom reels for fluke, BSB, blackfish etc. Easy to work on and almost bulletproof.
