I am still trying to find a line that I am happy with. Reviews on Fireline, Powerpro, and Spiderwire would be helpful and also for those of you that use mono what you like.

Fireline

I've switched 3 spinning reels over to fireline and I'm very happy with it.

1) No twist - doesnt twist like mono -
2) Strong / Thin - I'm able to put on almost 2X what i can with comparable test mono
3) Casts well - I fish from a boat and although I don't need to cast long distances - it does cast well. It's kind of stiff at the beginning - and takes some time to break in - but once it's broken in - it's very smooth.
4) Knots well - standard knots all work/hold well

I started off backing it with mono - then i decided to eliminate the mono to get more on the spool. It's nice to have the extra on the spool in deep water and / or when getting spooled is a possibility.

Re: Fireline

B-assman you don't find that it slips without any backing?
