Post Congers eels

Anyone fishin for'um? Tis the season. Dark nights and cool water temps gets them moving. When the bass bite is cold, congers can save the night....plus, in my opion, congers taste better. Squid seems to work best but most any cut bait will work. drop your lines near jettys and or rocky bottoms. Steel leaders are a must!! Watch your fingers! they got a nasty nasty bite. Once you have one place your foot on the back of its neck and cut its spin behind the head. I've seen someone get admited for stitches after its head was cut off.... from a bite!! I've seen guys with all kinds of home made contraptions to handle these anaconda's Biggest I seen was 15# 4.6 ft. They give you a good battle too.

They fight funny on the way up. Tasty critters, tho. We get 'em all winter long in NY waters.

Go to a chinatown and check any restaurant and they will have it in their tank.
