Question Plug Question

Could you guys clarify a few questions for me? I am trying to find out the right names for wooden plugs as there seems to be a regional difference in what they are called.
Surfster, danny and pike and any other names that correspond.Which are surface swimmers and can i tell the difference as to which swim on surface and which sub surface.
Thanks still trying to learn.

Pikies, dannys, surfsters are surface swimmers that can be made to swim subsurface by bending the lip or wire loop. Speed of retrieve also affects how the lipped plug swims as far as surface or subsurface.
