foul hooking plugs

What do you guys do when you cast a popper or danny and it gets foul hooked on the leader? Do you continue working the lure or reel in and recast? Some poppers have an interesting action when foul hooked, kind of crippled bait action. I mostly reel in and recast but, was wondering if anybody catches when this happens.
Thinking about one more try this weekend for the striped ones befor hanging it up for the season. Not a great year for me catching wise, but still had a blast. Thinking the oil spill this spring and the late start was the reason. Fall was better but not like last year. But I am still pluggin!

Usually reel in. You get a good fish on there could be enough leverage to bust the hook off...

I lose it and cut the line while cursing at the plug maker for selling such malfunctioning gear. I scream that I will sue for the material loss and the duress that has befallen me.

@%$&$^#%$$($*$&#^%%#$#%@$@^$^&!!#%#%^$^!!!!!!

Then I wake up out of dreamy world and retrieve the sucker as quick as I can and clean it up. Do the same when I sense weed.

Don't we all ?

"Sense" weed ?

Thanks John, didn't really think about if I hooked one it might break me off. As for seaweed had more unfishable days due to weeds this year then any other I can remember. Beach still looks like a green rotting carpet all the way down to the low water line. But I have caught some schoolies with seaweed snagged on my lure.
