I've caught Smelt at Fort Adams and over at Goat Island bridge a few weeks ago with hayabusa sabiki rigs size 6, they were about 4-5" in length.

I've also caught smelt over on the warfs in galilee and on the beach side stone wall... excelent fluke bait.. about 2 years ago..

it depends i guess on how they feel... i caught tinkers, smelt, and butterfish at the brightman st bridge about 4 years ago..

and banged a weakfish at peires beach (almost brackish) 5 years ago throwing the old kastmaster for schoolies.

point is ya never know what your going to catch so bring everything... lol... (back problems)
