I'll grump

between jobs
between fishing seasons
between a rock and hard place in many areas

roofing until another opportunity comes my way, on a roof at 7 am today, old roof with tons of pitch; mean I've got one hell of a sulfer burn on my face. Add a bum knee popping out about 7 times today, should have not switched knee supports new one isn't worth spit, I'm not a happy camper.

On the plus side, I got positive reports back from a master craftsman I'm starting a colaboration with, I think he had a woody from the initial testing. I could tell from the pm, he's now on a mission, which was my plan when I reeled him in and released him. Hopefully something might be available for the upcoming winter shows.

I need to fish, any catching going on? My winter fishery hasn't really developed and I'm Jones'g big time. I might just have to go out Cod Fishing, FW you doing anything? Might have Wed off, rain day, no roofing.

Color me confused? Post says one thing, email says another, I'm on hold pending you coloring me a better picture. As usual I appreciate your support, it means a lot coming from a seasoned guide and someone that smells almost as fishy as the water you know and guide in.

I've been in a mood Dave, so ignore me, you may be mental I've lost my mind.

Up at 4 this am, can't raise the boss man to find out if we is roofing or sitting, weather looked boarderline, so I make the 30 minute drive to the pickup spot. No boss, no phone call, wait my 15 minutes call him and leave a cell message I'm out of there. What a waste of sleep, time and gas.

Came home and took my son fishing down Wareham way, caught a bunch of smallish bass and pickeral, some sunnies and enjoyed the calm and warm day. Spit rain on us a few times, but we enjoyed getting out for a change of pace and the sweetwater was a welcome change. My depth finder was in the shop, but the water seemed cold, but with flat calm and warm air, my rapala dead stick pattern was on. It's hard to go that slow, but under those conditions in shallows with green weeds, it works well. Also got some on a float & fly presentation, but it never produced the 4-5 lb bass I'd hoped it would.

Hey no roofing again today, so if you be home Dave call me, I've got plastic to pour up for the monster and I might fool around with the pearl mixes for you. I'll email you the home phone, as that's like were I'll be when I go offline shortly and it rings in the office if I'm still here.

Ok, let's hope my luck is changing, as I got called back in for a second interview with the office manager and VP this coming week. I'm thinking it's a good sign, since he initially was very positive but mentioned the dreaded catch phrase "but money is very tight and we likely can't make any moves until next year".

BM called and we kissed and made up, which resulted in some experimentation on some new colors the mental one wanted. Pearl versions of bubblegum and marker bouy yellow (clammer take note), both are going to look so sweat in the water. No work again today due to high winds, so Toby's order is up for the cod trip, glow in the dark baits for that extra edge, super scent impregnated.

Off to fume land.
