Dept. of Ed. to CENSOR our TV and MINE!

http://www.nad.org/openhouse/action/...orship/pr.html

Check this above out. President Bush is going to censor our TV, mostly to deaf viewers. They will approve captions for deaf viewers if they watch news or educational programs. And I disagree with that because they believe that the contents weren't ap[poriate. I don't give a damn what is apporiate or not. It's the responsibility of an individual viewer. If this pereists, then it will continues to censor our entertainment. We aren't going to be American people. We are going to be slavery to the censorships. This is like our government abusiung power.

Unfortunately this is how politicians who have any sort of deviant agenta get their foot in the door. They will push to get something small passed which wont affect the general public and once it passes, the deviant politican will get other people in their party to push to get the same law passed which will affect the general public... When the general public cries out that what they are doing violates their rights, the poloticians will quickly point out that one law has already been passed....(When I say deviant politician I mean the hard core Christian family values Republican.. I don't want to offend christians outhere, but I thought i should explain more.)

I'm actually surprised that there isnt more talk of politcs on these fishing boards and am very happy about it
And now back to our show

Who knows? Liberman is the one who brought up this bill to the congress to censor our right to watch tv with captions, but it could lead to furthur censorship.

Maybe you can, but the president is censoring me to enjoy media entertainment with captions. This is about deaf people and people who like to watch tv with captions on. Sure, why not?

My question is... Why does he have to interfere with everyone's or anyones tv ability to watch??

to alot of people TV is the route to all evil . like school doesnt put kids in the path of bad things , maybe we should ban schools . we are fast becoming a society that alot of people fought and died to prevent . its the little ones that slide by " for your own well being " that then open the flood gates to pure censorship .

polititians suck so does censorship !

Why cant deaf people read what we can hear on TV ? maybe they are more sensitive ? I dought it ! its because right now they are in the minority . stand up and give bush some good signs !

You are overeacting.

Nothing about censorship here. A case of supply and demand.

Write the letters.

So Notaro,

You are sticking by your story that this is censorship by the PRESIDENT and not the Dept. of Education recognizing that they cannot close caption EVERY program ?

Well......... ?

Notaro,

I applaud your effort in sending off a letter to your Senator. That is a great step and you might want to do this same to your Rep in the House.

Do you understand it is a budget issue and you will have to have a lot of support in order to get the attention that is needed in order for the "Censorship" decision to be overturned ?

A petition, much like the one that many in RI and Mass used to leverage the reps into overturning another bad decision, will really help your cause. It is going to need a few (probably more) names in order to get noticed. A lot of work I bet.........

I, for one, will sign any petition you present. About to sign Katies right now.

Good luck and please keep us up to date.

I don't see how does the captioning have effects on the budgets today. Lemme read it again, BW.
