Lathe runs fine, just needs some cleaning up.
May is coming soon, don't want to get too addicted by then....

I have that same saw in the old Craftsman version with the extensions. Put a 2hp motor on it with a nice Freud blade and it will cut anything.....

Yeagh I would say Yer done Karl.
Nice sturdy lathe, cast iron base, will last a lifetime. Only thing that could possibly wear out is the motor and the belt. Those gouges look nice too. Now all you need is a duplicator and you will be completely addicted.
Best of luck with your new toys.

Thanks everybody..
Spent the day cleaning and oiling, got everything working smooooth, and all the rust off of the machined surfaces.
Lathe motor is an old Craftsman, brushes look like brand new!
Runs like a top.
Found a plate, says J-Line, then shows 4 options for the belt.
635 RPM (Where it was set)
1230 RPM
2430 RPM
4650RPM
Easy to change it around...
Where should I set it???
I would imagine higher that where it was (635)..
Motor on saw might have to go back to dump... oh well
Salty,
think Sears still has wings for that model saw?
Plate on saw said to order parts thru Sears Roebuck and Co.
Wonder if Igave them the model #.....
I asked the guy dumping it if he had wings for it... I got the feeling he couldn't buy a clue what I was talking about....
