I have been using one for a couple of years now. It works great. I go out during the day and store the spots that I want to try. Then when I go out at night I can find my spots very easily.
I also store where I leave my vehicle so that getting back is easy as well.

It has been pretty interesting to see how sandbars and holes move from year to year.

I have been using a etrex Venture by Garmin. Easy to use and no complaints. This will be my third year with it.

Could I live without it, sure, but I like gadgits.

Ask Rolland Martin. he did when he went bluefish fishing on Cape cod. Or at least his guide did. Walked along beach at low tide looking for holes.

thats why they call it fishing not catching

Surely Bassey,

I got mine at Kittery Trading Post for about $175 during a large sale when the regional sales rep was there.

To be honest I did not get it for the sole purpose of fishing. I have undeveloped property up in central Maine and the main reason for the purchase was to use it up there so that I did not get lost in the woods.
