Macks

Well definately found the Macks this weeked! I found a weedline northeast of the mouth of the Merrimack and the macks were in there thick! Horse macks in fact, some of them topping a pound/15 inches.

We tried live lining a few inside the river on the way home with no luck. There was a lot of boiling water by the weed line. I wouldn't be surprised if stripers or some other big game fish was feeding on them. One mackerel I cuaght had fresh teeth marks 1/3 of the way up the tail. I thought it probably was a bluefish, but not sure. We were probably 3 or 4 miles out so I think we were past the legal limits to go for stripers if they were there. Plus we had our hands full with the macks.
