Nice stuff CS , that was a VERY popular shape this winter, I figured Tattoo's spook inspired people, but that's the cool thing about plug building, everyone's got their version of a classic, I was lucky enough to get a Guzz version of that plug johnny "tRB"

I have to appologise their seems to be some confusion I have recieved numerous emails on the surf howdy. I am not the originator that credit has to go to a very good friend of mine (BERNZY he must get all the credit for this creation and it is not done as a spook) In a previous post he stated how this creation came to be from a cotton cordell plug called a boy howdy not a spook. It is 10 times more versitile as my husband has said to me and as bassmaster has said in another post.

By the way nice surf howdy newley

Who's a copy cat .. Me thats who .. learn from the masters .. Bob Hahn Wanabe.. .. I was wondering if anybody knows who started this spook thing for real... This Ballerina is 1940's... I suspect Zara Spook came much later .. anyone know for sure .. I've been thinking about this for a while long before this post ..

Thats an old one cs ,, I make em a tad smaller now .. I been working on saltwater version a while ... A#1 told me too .. said it was the best fresh water lure ever ,,. .. I think I've made 30 of these different woods,,sizes ,,weights.. I had a mahogony one that was silly in the water , lost it .. Using hard maple now .. Worst action was ayc.. .. Hook placement ..weighting..set in the water ,, I'm trying to keep it the same as that Plueger Ballerina

no, weight is in the tail and behind the hook. They actually throw nicely. Sits in water at approximately 45 degrees.

Nib,,very slight twirl,, cast pretty good.. never hang line up on belly hook .. Can't add any more weight to arse for cast because they have to sit in the water 45 degrees.. yea what newelly said
