They're here in Hartford right now...complete with dime sized hail and 50+ mph gusts. Surprised power isn't out yet.

What? No. We can't stop here. This is bat country. -HST

Just got a heck of a show south of the city from way up in our building. Nasty lightenin'. Pretty funny to watch people dodgin the hail down in the streets.
Hopefully it blows out now and will be quiet the rest of the night.
Hate standin on the beach holdin a lightenin rod.

We got blasted at about 0300 this am at work. Heavy rain, hail and incredible lightning! It looked like a strobe light. Was on a call at 0315, standing outside when the TV tower no more than 100 yards from me got nailed. I came out of my skin and headed for my cruiser.

I've never seen lightning like that in a while. Bolts everywhere. At one point, there were about 10 bolts at once. You could see clear as day. Wild and fun!

Hey, they missed us in Newport -

Nah nah nah nah nah nah

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Lightning hit here around 3am, I got to work around 6 to make sure we were up. No such luck, One phase on a 3 phase circuit working. 5 UPS's blown up in the computer room (I know, they did their job). Re routing all phone and computer equipment, setup a generator and get people working in 4 different towns.

Now the job was to find out what outlets worked on the last phase, move all computers there and get everyone working.

Call CL&P at 8Am, we'll have it up and running early afternoon. Calll back at noon, answer is late afternoon, call back at 3 they say we don't know when it will be working....

It's almost 8pm and I wanna go fishing....

We had a line blow thru eastern Nassau and western Suffolk Counties on LI around 7-7:30.

No hail, but 50 mph winds and rain so heavy you couldn't see 100' in front of ya.

Lots of drowned ignitions along the Northern Parkway
