Shark ID Help

Ran into a large shark a few years ago and was hoping someone could give a positive ID on. After tuna fishing(uneventful) in CCB one day in late summer/early fall we started cod fishing. After about1hr I noticed a very large shark right at boatside. We quickly rigged a shark bait, cant remember if it was butterfish or mack. Hooked and fought fish for about an hour before the hook(apparently not strong enough) straighted.Have caught many blue before and it did not look like one. Anybody have any ideas? Pics will be posted later today.

Cool

Nope, not a thresher, thresher have a small head compared to body size and they are grey in color. That there is a med/lg Blue dog. No doubt about it.

Why even try.........

Yup.. caught enough 300+ bluesharks to know that head... they get a bit wider, but still have that big sweep on the fins and long head....
They can pull when the water gets cold....

Blue Shark

Caught more than I would have liked to. Pec fins are the biggest ID feature.
