Salty Brine dies--sad day in RI

RI's best , Salty Brine , died today. Sad thing , brings tears to my eyes. I always said when he went I would attend his funeral. I'm here in China and can't go .

Rest in peace Salty , you did really good with the time you had.

Salty is gone, what a good person he was.

A sad day in R.I. and thru out New England, he touched a lot of us.

As someone more or less from Mass I never listened to a "schools out" snow day call from Salty but I have sensed from day one what he meant to all of you Rhode Islanders. He was extremely well respected by all and a first class guy... One of the greats...

There will never be another Salty---and that's one of the things that's wrong with today's world

Rest in peace---a big part of my childhood was spent watching the Stooges and Popeye on Salty Brine's Shack.

I'll certainly miss him.... Spent many a morning looking out the window listening to Salty in anticipation of a cancelation because 85% of the time when Foster Glocester is closed we were closed.

Sadly my children who live in Glocester will miss the Legend.......

I remember watching him on channel 12 WPRO. He would show old Popeye cartoons and at the end of the show a moving "cut out" of a jumping swordfish or marlin would show on the screen. I watched his show when I was a kid back in the '60's.

RIP. He was a part of my youth. His school cancellations were like Christmas morning, waiting to open your presents.

my wife grew up in Rhody, I saw it on the news and mentioned it to her, she said, "no school fostah glostah"... then got a funny, sad look on her face.... later on she said kinda what Mike P posted... too bad there are never gonna be any more Salty's..... kinda sad, I guess.... she was wondering... were all his dogs named Jeff?, or was there just one....

Remember to brush your teeth and say your prayers -

Say goodnight Jeff.....

Unhappy

A great loss , but we are richer for his having been here. Popeye and the Three Stooges , yup those were the days . More innocent times for sure . Remember to 'brush your teeth and say your prayers'' . There never will be another like Salty....NOOOOOOBODY!
