drill bits

What type and brand of drill bits do you use for thru drilling?
I tried to ask this question but confused the issue with my somewhat related drilling problems.
So if it ain't a double aught secret spill the beans

I start mine with a jobber length brad point and finish it with a long split point.
O, I forgot the other part of my question, I use some cheap Vermont American bits.

Broke my 1/8 brad point Sunday during halftime

Went by W L Fuller and got a brandy new 5/32 brad point yesterday. Last time I was there one of the owners asked if I was drilling cross grain or end grain. When I told her end grain she said that they can grind the bits with no spurs and they wander less.

RI Popper also mentioned a while back that they drill straighter with the spurs ground off.

Drilled a few last night and didn't have one miss.
