Unhappy Ahhhh!!!

What's worse here? The fact that fisheries management effed up or that this guy's catch went from a few hundred pounds to a few thousand???????

You know what I would like to know?

How quickly will fisheries mgmt raise limits upon favorable fish stocks info

VS.

How slowly will fisheries mgmt lower limits when it is obvious that stocks are imploding.

And...

How far will fisheries mgmt raise poundage quotas upon favorable data

VS.

How little they lower quotas upon unfavorable data.

In other words, it seems that they are quick to jump on the "all better" bandwagon, where as it takes years to affect any changes which attempt to conserve an overfished species.

I may be way off base here.

Why do commercial fisherman complain about not being able to catch more fish? It seems to me they have to catch less to make more money. It all has to do with the supply and demand issue. Supply up demand low price low. Supply low demand up price up?
If i was a commercial fisherman i would rather have stricter limits set to make more money off my catch for less work. Maybe my theory is wrong so don't hang me here.

My opinion is they shut the whole fishery down for 5 years and let the stocks recover for all species. Now i know your gonna hang me
