sinking line from small boat how many ips?

I want to get a sinking line 10w for fishing off my 16 foot boat. what do you use? I'm thinking 450 gram. thats the best brand? thanks ed.

FISH?????????????????? depends on the (WATER DEEEEEPTH)?
if your in 2' of water 450 will be TOOOOOOOO FASTTTTTTTT. look at the depth charts on what ever brand you going to buy.it will have a SINK RATE on the box. I use teeny, an air/flow, an have 2. of each weight for ALL CONDITIONS

I use 450 grain super fast sink tip from cortland for depths of 10ft plus. For shollower water I use and intermediate line. You can also purchase an inexpensive lead core line and cut it to various lengths, which you attach to a floating line, using the loop system to cover any fishing situation.

Well I use a SA uniform sink type5 (sink rate4.5 to 6ips)most of the time even in shallow water with a lot of current. just my 2c.

My go to line from a boat is a shooting head made with Cortland LC13. Most of the time I use an intermediate running line. For very deep, I use a mono running line.

That head sinks at about 8 IPS. It weighs about 390 grains for 30 ft. That length casts well with a 10wt.

A fast sinking full line I've used is the Airflo DI7 line.

thanks everyone, salty dog, I've got a interm and a floating line I want a sinking line to cover deeper water. I'll be fishing the warren river, westport river, the salt pond and walls here in r.i. and the bay.I was looking at cortland streamer express 450 I think its a shooting head.

my buck & n'aquata Di 3 35' airflo shooting head [as my int line ]
and the Di 7 [ips] as the "dredger"
using 30lb gudebrod int running line . It is easy to cast and untangle .
the 10wt di3&7 are fine on my xi2 10wt, but I upped the floater and int to 11 wt
