Slipknot uses one at the ditch as does a few others that fish there . I havent casted one yet but they are really nice rods . I believe he has a 1208 which is a spinner . Ive seen him catch some big fish with that rod . Ask him he'll give you the low down . I want one next but a 1209 conventional just for the ditch . anyone know any good lottery #s

Chris is right, I do have a Breakaway factory rod. It is the 1209 spinner. I like it alot for jigging in the canal. It will make an excellant meat stick too. I think you could cast a 2 pound lobster with it, it is that tough. It hauled in my 31 1/2 lb stiper from the ditch in a 5 knot current no problem. I cast 4-5 oz jigs with it out about 90-100 yards. It will just about begin to load at 3 1/2 oz but that is about the lowest I would throw with it. I don't know what the upper limit is, but it's at least 12 oz I'd say. Cape Cod Tackle.com has them for the best price around.

He can also build you a custom on the All Star/Breakaway blanks. This winter, I'm building a 1088 Allstar (same as 9' Breakaway) that I bought LAST YEAR (note to wife )...

That's why I asked John. I was thinking "he ain't building himself a spinner" but the wording within the thread about a spinner (original post) got me thinking "what the heck?"
