I live and fish for srtiped bass hybids here in Colorado. I have found info regrading Striped Bass is very help full. I am stuck to fly fishing from shore in about 3 to 5 feet deep water. I was woundering what type of weather conditions you perfer for chasing Striped Bass? Wind conditions, clouds or no clouds, rain? Type of shore line sand over rock? What water temp do you start fishing for Striped Bass at?

Stripers aren't called rock fish for nothing

Cloudy days are usually better than bright ones. Tides are a big factor in salt water. Bass like moving water to take advantage of baitfish. If you can find an ambush point with moving water and rocks you should find some fish.

Are you fishing on the river or a lake? if you're fishing the river, and you have trout fishing experience, use the same principals, as the bass often hold and feed like trout do. White bucktail is always a safe bet. Try a muddler minnow. You might be surprised... :-) From shore on a lake, look for structure, rocky bottoms and ledges. Breaks from deep water to shallow. Try fishing at night
:-) In the salt, eel grass beds. Don't know if you have the equvalent there or not...

I've had great luck as the air pressure drops before a storm front moves thru.

Try fishing nights or low light times.Stripers become active when water is around 50 degrees F. Good night fly is dark or black and produces good water movement.Good luck.
