Rental question, Duxbury, Plymouth area.
My wife works in Boston and makes more money than I do. I like living in Narragansett for a number of reasons. Just today she is talking about taking on more work in the Boston area, which means that I won't see her Monday through Friday. She has lately been staying in hotels.
I think we may have to move. I'm thinking the Duxbury, Plymouth area--I have my reasons for picking these towns. What kind of rents are we going to be looking at? Any advice would be helpful. The move won't happen until the fall. Thanks.

John;
Place a call to a non-fishing friend who was looking in the same area before settling west in Worcester (closer to his family)
He said about the same as around here; can find small houses/apartments for ~8/900 up to the usual insane amounts 2K+/month

Duxbury is highend as fars as sale prices, that would imo equate to high rents. That being said there are some other towns in the area that will have very competitive rents, and Plymouth is one. Other towns I would look at would be Hull, Kingston, Rockland, Weymouth, And Abington. If you are serious I could give you the number of a guy who handles rentals, and you could see what he has. I use him when I need tenants here at my 2 family.

Goose, Plymouth should be pretty reasonable, take a look at Marshfield as well. Duxbury is high end, but you may be able to find something resonable a few miles from the water. I think it depends on when you will be looking too. During the summertime, rents in these areas sky rocket. In the fall you may have a better time finding prices and a lease more to you liking.

My buddy gets 1000 a week for his place in Marshfield, granted he is a couple hundred yards from the beach.
