Anyone know what this is?

I caught a few schoolies the other day with this stuff in there gills. Some of them it was real tick and hard to scrape off. Don't know if it's a parisite or just residue from what there feeding on. Thanks

Lots of sick fish around, green shirts told Charter Fleet out of CC Bay, catch and release only, fish kills (mackerals) have been confirmed from red tide... bass eat macks, clams, crabs... all affected by the Red Tide.... Really starting to wonder about that stuff... and the changes in the fresh water content in the Gulf Stream, and the fallout from the outfall pipe.
Might be best to put them all back for a while. Damn, I love a good fresh striper on the grill though....
