Resizing and posting pics.

I tried for quite sometime lastnight to upload some pics. Both the file size and pixel size are to big.

I've been able to edit the picture using the "crop" feature in Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition to get it below 1.0mb file size but I can't get it to the minimum requirement of 800x800 without cutting out half the fish.

I've also tried editing it in Paint by clicking on Image then Attributes and changing the pixel size to 800x800.All I end up with is an 800x800 dark square from one of the corners of the pic depending on which way I've flipped the pic.

How on God's green earth do I upload a smaller version of the entire pic?

BTW.The original pic size is 1.5mb 2856/2142.

You can do it in Paint by using Image>stretch/skew command from the tool bar

put in some percentage of file size (ie 50% to start) ; use the same for both horizontal and vertical or it will distort. You will need to do by trial and error until you get under the minimum size.

this is the hard way without a good photo program. I forgot how I did it with the photo program before my trial expired, but it was pretty easy --- there was a "resize" command that you could enter the file size directly

what kind of file are you saving it as?
a bitmap or jpeg is signifigantly smaller. Also Photoshop i think has an option like, save for the web or something like that.

Thats what i use... you also have the ability to select all of the pictures in a folder and resize them in 1 batch... it's free, fast and best of all free...

the only thing is on the right hand side you will have to select the format of the picture(s) bmp, jpg, gif, ect..... then using the slider make it to the size you want... easy! and best of all it's free!... and no spyware which is another huge bonus.....
