We let her go too.
I'm not sure I could have done it if she was over 50 but it felt really good to watch her swim away...

SB, thats great, letting her go. You caught a real nice striper, took pictures of her as your trophy, and now she is free to produce more little stripers. Thats one thing I could never understand, why almost everyone keeps these real big fish. I mean are they as good to eat as the smaller ones? I hope I am not offending anyone!!

I'm sure the reason that I caught her was that other prople let her go before. We caught a bunch of other fish that morning that would have been much better eating if I wanted to keep fish. The big ones taste like rubber and it was honestly more fun to let her go than to catch it.
I was a little nervous about the expired disposable camera until the pics were printed. This is another reason that you should never fish alone....

Great fish. What a massive head; given a few more bunker to fatten up on and she might just hit 50 pounds pretty soon. Nice release shot.
Congratulations again!
