MV Derby Pics 05
What a time. All the S-B guys were great. TO, Leo, Dennis and Keith. What an unbelievable time fishing with everyone and just getting to know you guys. I can't wait till next year. We all fished hard and got some great fish. Tues we had the board covered.
Jim (Sandman) thanks for the little tour Tues night it was a blast to get out there and fish with you.
Keith thanks for the boat ride. I won't post pics of the secret weapon.
Everyone who has not fished the derby should try and do it if they get the chance.

I only have one word...WOW!

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Post falling into obscurity
I think this post is falling to the bottom of the list way to fast. Must be a lot of guys and gals that are extremely jealous of the great night/day y'all had fishing. Glad you took pictures for all to see. The pics and comraderie are great for all to see, because its truly what s-b.com is all about.

That is exactly what it is about. We were there to enjoy ourselves and have a good time. The fish just happened to be a little extra bonus. I would like to thank John R personally because without him starting this site none of this would have happened. Some take this site for granted in that they forget why it is here. It is to bring fisherman together to share tips and stories. Not to start wars and name calling. The 5 of us had never met or fished with each other before this site and look at what came out of it. These pics are there to show what is capable if you just get out and fish and make some friends along the way. All of us shared some memorable moments and stories that I am sure we will never forget. Fishing with new people in new areas is something that I enjoy because I learn a lot. I learn about people and the way they fish. Some people do not have the open personality to be able to do this, that is too bad because they are missing out on what is important about fishing.

I couldn't agree with you more. For many of us fishing is about solitude and in many ways it's a meditation on what's possible; is that fish of a lifetime looking at my plug, eel, etc. and how can I trick her into a possibly fatal mistake that she's never made before. But the best time isn't spent with the fish; it's spent with others who understand that solitude. My best memories aren't really about the fish, but are about the fishing, and the best of those are with others I shared it with. That's what I remember. You guys are gonna have some great ones
