Get the Point

When fishing plugs/lures, do you prefer to go barbless?

If schoolie fishing - absolutely. If fishing disposable lures to disposable bluefish - absolutely. Targeting large bass? Nope

When going for schoolies or blues I kinda take a different approach.I prefer to fish plugs/tins that only have a single barbed hook. That kinda limits you mostly to spoon type lures and jigs but in my experience schoolies and blues love shiny metal objects.

When targeting larger fish I leave nothing to chance. The only thing I might change is the tail hook of a plug to a siwash if its action/design permits it.

If i get into a school of blues i put on blue plugs with minimal hooks and the barbs crushed. And if its schoolie time i will switch hooks to barbless.

Everything is better on the rocks.
