Species Varification
Looking for help in varifing this particular species of fish. Caught and released in R.I. midday on Monday while Stripper fishing. Beautiful fish, thought maybe it was a small Cod or Haddock.

Caught the fish on a wreck, about 3/4 mile offshore in around 55 feet of water. (Sorry, I know this isn't the boat forum.) Length was approximately 18-20". Just out of curiosity, is there a size limit on Cod in RI waters?
