Wink PlugFest 06.... We Need Stuff you can provide

OK...
We've set a Date 2/11/06
We've started the contest
We've rented the Hall
We've been working on JohnR to secure the prizes

NOW we need stuff from you.

We need some people to volunteer... yes volunteer to to do some demostrations on Airbrushing....
so we need
-Airbrush(es)
-Compressor (Throw Timber)
-Spray Booth (portable)
-Paint
-Primed Lure Bodies

I'd also like to see some demos on tricks, jigs etc that you guys use to make your hobby easier. I know mac, Tagger, Capesams all have some cool jigs and tricks they use... I'd love to put a presentation together on that... if you have ideas please pm me.

For that we'd probably need...
-Lathe
-Drill Press
-Table Saw
-Band Saw
-Belt Sander
-Tarp
-Shop Vac
-A dust collector???

And of course I'd love to see the collections of Capesams, Flap and AdamR and if you guys want to collaborate to do a presentation on the chronolgy and evolution of surf plugs that would be great.

Also...
We need food, utensils, drinks, cups, coffee napkins and perhaps a few rolls of paper towels.

PLEASE don;t be shy about volunteering your stuff.. we need it to make this thing interesting. PLease list what you can bring here.

Thanks!
-Dave

i'll try to bring my duster downdraft 3000.
i gotta see if i can fit it in the sloburban?
3000 cfm portable dust/spray sucker. 4 stage filters ,, does something like 98% of all voc's..
that will take care of everything but the kilbasa and chili..

if not i'll have a makeshift booth, with pre-dust/spray,, and carbon filters..

Dave,
Most of my tools are small and somewhat mobile.

I've got a delta midi lathe, it's not mounted or on a stand as it just sits on my worktable, so I could throw it in the truck pretty easily. It only has the centers it came with as I just got it and haven't upgraded it at all yet, and my chisels are kind of low end (just the buck bros, which don't hold an edge for very long but work ok)..

I've got a 10" craftsmen drill press, I could bring it along and the jigs I use on that.

Let me know as far as the tools go. I'm sure a lot of the guys here have better setups than I do....

i'll bring something along to eat, Also if you need help setting up I'd be glad to help out. I've already got clearance for the whole day... Thanks for putting this together, I know its a lot of work

Can I get a few volunteers to turn some wood? Same deal as the painting just watch if you want to...

Anyone else feel like lending a hand in the painting dept?

We also need airbrushes and paints. Vic said he'd bring his compressor, so we need a few brushes. I'll throw some paint.

Paul please do, can never get enough of it, hopefully you can give us a practical demonstration. Each time I use mine I seem to get it to grab the stock.

Probably won't be able to do a demo because it only fits my prehistoric lathe, but can probably give you a pointer or two. Think wrist curls. You are going to need strong wrist's. I also will have cutting tool for the homemade dup. guys. that is a marked improvment to anything you are using now.

just use your computer, it's easy

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...59345,0.918732

come up 95 north to 495 south towards cape cod
get off at exit 4 Rt. 105, go left off ramp heading north on rt.105 and take a left at the light at dunkin donuts, go a few hundred yards and turn right after the Capeway Building, park out back of the Capeway building and come across the street go in front door. easy
